ASUS Leads OLED Monitor Market with 21.9% Share, TrendForce Says

ASUS has claimed the number one position in the global OLED monitor market, according to data from independent market research firm TrendForce.

The Taiwan-based technology company now holds an estimated 21.9% market share, surpassing Samsung and cementing a decisive lead in the rapidly expanding OLED display segment.

The achievement marks a historic shift in the competitive landscape. Samsung, which previously held the top position, has fallen to second place with 18% market share, while MSI claims third position at 14.4%.

LG Electronics rounds out the top tier with 12.9% share, with all other manufacturers collectively accounting for the remaining 32.7%.

The milestone arrives amid explosive market growth. According to TrendForce's Q3 2025 shipment report, global OLED monitor shipments reached approximately 644,000 units, representing a 12% sequential increase and a remarkable 65% year-over-year surge.

The research firm now projects that full-year 2025 OLED monitor shipments will reach around 2.62 million units, marking an 84% increase from 2024.

ASUS's ascension stems from a deliberately diversified product strategy. The company maintains distinct OLED offerings across multiple market segments, including ROG-branded gaming monitors targeting competitive esports enthusiasts, ProArt series displays designed for professional content creators, and portable ZenScreen OLED units serving mobile professionals.

This breadth of portfolio contrasts with competitors who have concentrated efforts on narrower market segments.

The company's recent product innovations further reinforce its market position. New models such as the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W and ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG integrate Tandem OLED technology and TrueBlack Glossy coating, delivering enhanced peak brightness, wider color volume, and extended panel longevity.

Early 2025 launches included the 27-inch QD-OLED ROG Swift PG27UCDM, featuring 4K resolution at 240 Hz refresh rate, and the ROG Strix XG27AQDPG, achieving 1440p at an industry-leading 500 Hz.

ASUS has also prioritized addressing traditional OLED concerns through proprietary technologies. The company's OLED Care Pro suite, featuring the Neo Proximity Sensor, automatically switches displays to a black screen when no user is detected, helping safeguard panel lifespan and mitigate burn-in risks.

This consumer-centric approach has contributed to strengthening the brand's reputation, particularly in the mid-to-high OLED segment.

Samsung's decline in relative market position reflects strategic shifts rather than shrinking demand. The company maintained stable shipment volumes throughout the first three quarters of 2025, relying heavily on established OLED models during the first half of the year.

New Samsung monitor designs entered mass production in late Q3, positioning the company for improved performance in the fourth quarter as holiday-season promotions commence. The Korean manufacturer's established brand presence and product advantages in curved and ultrawide OLED configurations continue to support competitive positioning.

MSI's rapid ascent to third place represents another significant market development. The company climbed from fifth position in 2024 by offering more than 20 mid-to-high-end OLED monitors, with particular emphasis on 4K UHD models aligned with modern GPU capabilities and contemporary AAA gaming requirements.

The company's strategy of merging creator-sensitive color performance with gaming-class speed has resonated with evolving consumer preferences as OLED technology gains mainstream acceptance.

LG Electronics experienced temporary setbacks during the second quarter due to production relocation, though shipment volumes rebounded following the transition's completion. The company's current market share of 12.9%, despite its subsidiary LG Display being a dominant OLED panel manufacturer, reflects earlier supply chain disruptions.

TrendForce anticipates LG will gain additional traction in the fourth quarter through expanded output and promotional activities surrounding its newly launched 45-inch OLED lineup.

The broader market acceleration stems from converging factors. Demand from both gaming and professional segments continues accelerating, while panel manufacturing yields improve and costs trend downward.

OLED technology has transitioned from enthusiast niche to mainstream adoption, with price points for entry-level gaming OLED monitors declining significantly over recent years. Consumer confidence in OLED monitor technology has strengthened considerably, driven by improvements in reliability, burn-in mitigation, and expanded product availability across multiple price tiers.

Vincent Chiou, ASUS Global Vice President and General Manager of the Display Business Unit, emphasized the company's future direction: "ASUS has long been dedicated to innovation in display technology and impeccable quality.

In addition to receiving high praise from gamers, the industry-leading ROG gaming monitors and the ProArt series designed for content creators have also made significant inroads into portable and medical fields, earning widespread recognition and favor. Moving forward, ASUS will continue to prioritize user needs at its core, delivering an unparalleled visual experience to consumers."

Market observers anticipate that ASUS's first-place position will intensify competitive dynamics within the OLED monitor sector. The company's breadth of offerings across gaming, professional, and portable segments creates multiple revenue streams and customer touchpoints.

As OLED becomes the preferred technology for premium and upper mid-range displays, the concentration of market leadership among a smaller group of manufacturers suggests that brand recognition, product diversity, and consumer-centric innovation will determine competitive success in the coming years.
